The beach of Cala 'n Bosch is located near the town of Ciutadella, only 10 kilometres from the city centre. It's a sandy beach with a length of about eighty feet and one of the busiest in the area during the summer months. Hotels, apartment blocks and resorts have grown more in width than height.Even though they rub the excess, they don't disfigure the environment like on other islands. Over the years, hotel facilities have come to surround the sand, offering all kinds of additional services to tourists, with special emphasis on water sports. Visitors have the option of practicing various activities such as diving, windsurfing and even 'parasailing'.
This sandy cove is closely surrounded by small cliffs, which makes it a protected, natural pool. Another feature of this beach is that your view is not hindered by buildings when sitting on the sand, as the vegetation still acts as a visual barrier. This beach, like many others in Menorca, has many services to offer: sunbeds and umbrellas, showers, pedalos, lifeguards as well as a restaurant on the beach.
Besides the beach, there are plenty of other things to see in Cala'n Bosch. 100m from the beach, you'll find a small marina where various boats offer excursions to the beaches of the southern end of Ciutadella. It is worth to take a walk and see all the boats moored, or have a drink in one of the terraces of the bars and restaurants alongside the marina. Take a walk to the bridge over the harbour entrance channel, carved in the rock. From the port, you definitely have to walk up to the lighthouse of Cap d'Artrutx. Especially on clear days in the afternoon it's a beautiful thing to do, when you can see the sun rushing behind the mountains of Mallorca.
